Pursuing Excellence is Lonely

Updated: Mar 24, 2020

BUT YOU MUST EMBRACE IT.

Are you someone who wants more?

Are you someone who demands more?

Are you someone who will never settle?

If so, you'll understand exactly where I'm coming from today.

Let me explain...

*

Current society has been lead astray.

It has lost its way.

People no longer even understand why it's important to want to win, let alone have the will to go and do it.

Ambition has been replaced by entitlement.

Competitiveness is viewed as an ugly trait.

People are told that they're special, even though they have accomplished absolutely NOTHING in their lives to make them special.

Trophies are given out, not for winning, but merely for taking part.

The average worker feels entirely disconnected from their colleagues, as though their work is meaningless, and there's no sense of togetherness.

People justify their failures and laziness with excuses about LITERALLY ANYTHING.

Anytime someone jokes, or speaks their mind, people get (or act) offended.

In all honesty, it's pathetic.

Where has everyone's pride gone?

Deep down, we all know that not everyone can win.

That's idealistic bulls**t.

So today I'm talking to the realists.

The exceptions.

Those who Aspire for more from life.

Those who have had ENOUGH of the commonplace complaining and mediocrity.

Those who truly understand what success is, have a KILLER competitive attitude and an UNSTOPPABLE will to win.

Is that you?

Unfortunately, it's probably not; these people are the minority in current society, and that's what leads so many of us to feel isolated.

When we look around, we see so few like-minded, driven, focused people that it can cause us to pause.

"Why am I going through this alone?", we wonder.

But we're not.

There ARE like-minded people around us; we just have to look hard to find them.

But if you really feel as though you haven't got anyone like that in your close circle, just know this...

...it may feel as if you're alone now, but one day it will all be worth it.

One Day It Will All Be Worth It.

By the way, the fact that you feel different is almost definitely a good sign.

I'm not telling you to completely cut yourself off from all outside contact.

We need human connection, and without it you'll find it impossible to succeed.

But don't be afraid to stand alone sometimes.

It shows that you're thinking differently, planning differently, and acting differently to the rest of the average Joe's around you.

They blindly bundle their way through life, with no purpose, direction, or dreams.

They live with no urgency, integrity or intensity.

Not you.

No, you know that you ARE meant to do more in this life.

Mediocrity is a word that makes me cringe.

Recently, someone asked me what my biggest fear was.

Spiders are fine, heights I can deal with, tight spaces are bearable, but the one thing I can't STAND...

...is being average.

Being just another guy, who lives another typical life, working a 9-5 to make someone else's dream come true, staying in one place his entire life, maybe fathering a kid or two, and then dying with virtually NOTHING of a legacy.

It's just not for me.

And, like yourself, this thirst to grow has left me feeling alone at times.

It can be tough.

It's something I've discussed with others, and our shared perspectives remind me that I am not alone.

AND NOR ARE YOU.

There is a growing movement of people out there, just like you and I, who are actually changing things.

The people the planet depends upon to actually get s**t done.

People of determination, confidence, discipline, resilience, fortitude; they do exist.

So please, please remember that You'll Never Walk Alone.

Until the next time...

Alex (N.Y.A.)

Something Extra

The internet and social media are actually causing an epidemic of loneliness right now, all over the world.

People spend more time connecting online, but less time connecting in person, and this has exacerbated the situation.

So, in a society where isolation is already common, people like you and I feel even more alone, because we're part of this minority.

Why is it that we, the ones trying to contribute to the world, achieve more and become the best versions of ourselves are sat at home alone, while all the sheep of society are out partying together?

It's not right, and it's not the most effective way to succeed.

Individuality is key, yes, but the collective power of a group of these determined, cold-blooded, stop-at-nothing KILLERS ... well that's something to be feared.

So let's create it.

I want you to connect with each other, through this Aspirers' Community.

Go ahead, comment on this post to let others see that you are just like them.

Maybe they'll interact with you, and vice-versa.

Maybe you'll make a new friend, to aid you in your Pursuit of Excellence.

Either way you'll feel less lonely.

Another thing: be GENUINE and AUTHENTIC with your social media posts.

Whether it's on LinkedIn, Instagram or TikTok...

...share other people's content you find valuable.

...create your own content others will find valuable. ...speak from the heart.

Just let people know the real you, not a pretence that keeps up with the mediocre conformity of society.

Let me know we're in this together.

Let me know you've got my back, and I'll have yours in return.

Let's build this Aspirers' Community, together.
